Tall perennial herbs, 40–150 cm tall, glabrous or covered with septate hairs.
Leaf blades cordate or ovate-cordate, 4–9 cm long, 2–5 cm wide, base cordate to truncate, apex acute, margins coarsely serrate, upper surfaces glabrous, lower surfaces puberulent along veins, covered with glandular dots; petioles 1–3 cm long, with a furrow on adaxial side, puberulent.
Inflorescences in terminal racemose verticillate cymes, 5–8 cm long; bracteoles to 1 mm long, puberulent; pedicels to 1 mm long, covered with minute hairs; calyx covered with minute hairs and glandular dots; corolla 8–10 mm long, glabrous in throat, upper lip very broadly ovate, emarginate, lower lip 3-lobed, 2 lateral lobes ovate, middle lobe very broadly ovate, undulate; stamens 4, lower pair longer than upper one, filaments glabrous.
Nutlets 1–2 mm long, ellipsoid, 3-ridged, rounded, minutely hairy at apex.
